Temples of Bagan

Bagan is one of Asia’s greatest sights, with a carpet of about two thousand Buddhist temples constructed during the first pan-Burmese Empire, scattered over seventy square kilometers of hot and flat plains. Climb on top of one of them at dusk or sunset to admire the surreal profusion of stupas that stretch as far as the eye can see.
